Fern Green Runes can provide the perfect Runes for any purpose, including:
Runes can help in so many areas of life. Like the five points of a pentagram, or five branches of a mighty tree, these five areas are places you can put the Runes to work for highest good.
Ø Energy work. You can help yourself with Runes to increase energy and strengthen personal vitality. There are Runes to assist with mental clarity as well as psychic shielding, emotional issues, relationships, mental issues, love, and family. Runes are not a substitute for good communication and personal responsibility, but working with them can help bring you the courage to take charge of your own life and consciousness. Therein lies real power.
Ø Protection. Runes can be helpful around your house, on your belongings, or on your body to help protect against magical or astral as well as physical assault. Sometimes this is by making you more aware of your surroundings, or practical steps you need to take to keep yourself safe. At times Runic talismans are called for to help sanctify one's home or personal space.
Ø Health. The Runes can help us deal with dis-ease, physical challenges, and the many other issues we encounter as embodied beings on this Earth walk. There are Runes to help us manifest physical vitality and to cope when we have experiences of illness. Of course, you should always seek and heed the counsel of a qualified medical professional. Meanwhile, the Runes can help fortify and strengthen you, as you follow through with proper medical care and make necessary life decisions. Runes can also help support you in a healthy, wholistic lifestyle as you balance body, mind and spirit.
Ø Prosperity. Some Runes aid us in attaining a prosperous mindset, invoking blessings into our lives. Others remind us to discover the abundance and wealth already within us. There are Runes to help you fulfill your potential in the fields of career and personal finance.
Ø Spiritual growth. For various spiritual paths, the Runes can serve as symbols for meditation and the encouragement of higher consciousness. To some, the Runes bring a connection to ancestral power. To others, they simply help to connect with a higher purpose and align one's life with the Divine flow.
What Is the Futhark?
If you’ve read a little about the Runes or spent time with Norse-focused magicians, you’ve probably heard about something called a Futhark. What is this Futhark? Is it a God or Goddess? Is it a Rune?
The answer is that the Futhark is the magical Runic alphabet itself. Our word alphabet is named for the equivalent Greek letters, alphabeta. These are the first two of the Greek series of letters. Similarly, the word futharkfeoh, uruz, thurisaz, ansuz, raidho, and kennaz. (Familiar English equivalents would be F, U, Th, A, r, and K.) and stands for the first six letters in the fundamental Runic alphabet:
We have twenty-six letters in the English alphabet. There are twenty-four Runes in the Elder Futhark, the Runes most commonly used for magic and divination. Students of the deeper Runic mysteries learn that these twenty-four Runes correspond to the mystical Four Directions. They can also be divided into three rows of eight, or Aetts, providing symbolism into the unfolding of the universe and the evolution of the individual soul.
In terms of linguistic history, the Runes have developed over various North European and Scandinavian areas over many centuries. At times, letters have been added to and removed from the 24-Rune Elder Futhark. Other Runic alphabets include a 29-Rune Anglo-Saxon Futhork, and a 16-character Younger Futhark.
Can Runes outside of the Elder Futhark be used for magic? Yes, this is possible and many magicians have done so. There are also symbols related to Runes, such as the Thor’s Hammer and the Valknut, which can be used for magical purposes. However, for purposes of divination and mysticism, the 24-Rune Futhark is recommended as the basis for practice. This is because of the organization of the 24 Runes and the symbolism of the Runic rows correlated to the Four Directions. For these reasons, Fern Green uses primarily the Elder Futhark for personal consultations and Rune readings.
